Head of Product Marketing

HEAD of PRODUCT MARKETING

POSITION SUMMARY

As Agora.io’s Head of Product Marketing you will craft the messaging and positioning for our products. You’ll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial.  In your role as a Head of Product Marketing you will be the expert in customers, how they buy and their buying criteria, and will transfer that knowledge to the sales and product channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Agora.io’s products in the market.
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of our products.
  • Product launch and GTM – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on customers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on the competition and how to beat them.
  • Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for our products.
  • Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitor studies, and interview business prospects and industry experts.
  • Conduct in-depth customer research and interviews, make recommendations regarding Agora.io’s products, business and marketing strategies.
  • Develop global product pricing.

REQUIRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATION

  • 10+ years of B2B software product marketing experience with at least 5 years of experience in a field-facing role; experience spearheading product marketing for some or all of the following technologies is required: AV conferencing; unified messaging; internet media streaming; WebRTC;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred;
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills;
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%;
  • Outstanding people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties;
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up environment and comfortable with some ambiguity;
  • Self-motivated and flexible; integrity and a strong worth ethic.

Technology/Product Evangelist (Part- or Full-time / Internship)

TECHNOLOGY/PRODUCT EVANGELIST (PART- or FULL-TIME / INTERNSHIP)

Position Summary

Agora’s Technology/Developer Evangelist will be our functional ambassador, trainer and guide-to-all-things-WebRTC for the developer, technical and technical-media communities. As a partner to our BD, Engineering, Marketing and Product teams, deliver outstanding content, technical expertise and support in a variety of formats for all relevant audiences.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evangelize on behalf of our proprietary WebRTC technology, and embody the personality/voice of our brand, company and product.
  • Represent Agora in online forums, and at conferences, meetups and in-house events, and at/on standards and working committee meetings;
  • Conduct webinars with our developer community and partners;
  • Create and deliver training content, materials, and small amounts of code (samples, patches, etc.), as needed.
  • Help promote new features, products, value propositions to the technical stakeholder community.
  • Create, maintain and deliver content for Agora’s technical blog and developer community.
  • Provide guidance internally to help engineering team create and deliver content for blogs, whitepapers, media and events.

 

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • Must have familiarity in a variety of capacities related to technology evangelism, including: an engineering background, some marketing and product experience, familiarity with SDKs for the communications and teleconferencing industry, writing and presentation skills, high profile in the industry, and passion for the technology;
  • Technical acumen and ability to write code for mobile and web applications.
  • Must be a compelling presenter with experience presenting to varied audiences;
  • Excellent command of the English language and impeccable written/verbal communications skills;
  • Capable of engaging potential stakeholders, customers and partners through online forums, webinars and product launch videos;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to tell a story with data in a compelling way;
  • Comfortable with having an external voice in the developer and partner community;
  • Experience conducting one or all of these is highly preferred: webinars, podcasts, presentations, video announcements, training and writing industry papers and blogs.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in progress, in a technical discipline or equivalent experience/education, is required.

 

This is a paid, temporary internship for up to 90 days. Agora values its employees and provides a competitive hourly rate; however, temporary positions are not eligible for benefits.
